Hi all,
I am looking to start a call answering service and am looking for software to be able to answer calls calls that need to be scripted.
I have spoken to Nsolve/NCall and CallScripter but find there prices high.
Is there any other companies out there or are there prices the industry norm?

Many thanks

Tim

Hrm, a google brings up openanswer dot org

"OpenAnswer is a dynamic, cross-platform application designed for inbound call centers and telephone answering service providers. OpenAnswer is an open source software package that extends the functionality of standard PBX systems (specifically Asterisk) for call centers of all sizes. The entire application is written in PHP and JavaScript and is designed from the ground up to be easily customized. "

The software may be free, but even if it is suitable you need to consider the hardware requirements and id reckon youd need help getting it all setup and access to on call maintenance in case it stops working for you. You would have to consider the hardware costs too, ie servers to run it on. Maybe you could find managed hosting to run this for you, not sure what they would charge though.

I am assuming that as the OP was in December and the user hasn't been back since 4th Jan, they're not coming back, but information could still be useful for others of course.

When I had a call answering service, we weren't big enough to need specific software. It is something you need to think very carefully about because most software is very expensive (upwards of £1000 per annum per user). You need to be at a decent level to find that is necessary. At our height, I had four telephonists and nearly 100 clients that we answered calls for.
