Hi

It depends if you're looking for business to business or consumer lists. Good quality email data will have a different price from telemarketing data - and trust me you want quality!

The best quality business data (which is what we buy) is from Thompson Directories. Second best is Experian. Normally you're looking at paying between 35p to 60p per contact for telemarketing data. Good email data can be a lot more expensive.

Don't be fooled into getting cheap data - generally it's out of date and has loads of errors. The main reason we've used Thompsons for the last 7 years is because they clean their data every 3 months which means it's the most up to date you can get.

Good luck, hope it goes ok.

Hi

Yell do not offer this service anymore I am afraid. Corp are very good and I can certain vouch for their quality. I have used Marketing File too and found them pretty good.

We do have bespoke b2b segmented mailing lists available if we can be of assistance? We keep the data updated via telephoen validation.

Our lists start at 2p per record, depending on the level of segmentation. Send me a pm if you want any counts or costs advising for your need.

Thanks

Luke

Talk to Thomsons. They do lists which you can segment in lots of different ways to suit you.

Forget buying email addresses from them, they won't sell you them.

You could segment your list - get them to do an email campaign on your behalf. You then follow up the data.

I expect they will check for gone-aways every three months - as we do.

In terms of mailing lists, you get what you pay for!

If you are paying around 25p per record, expect very fresh data. For anthing under 10p, expect gone aways, name changes etc.

Hi

As mentioned already, there are several different suppliers of data and as quite rightly stated - the cheapest does not mean the best.

LBM own their own database, using a number of different sources and techniques to ensure that the quality is of the highest standard.
We have recently implemented some procedures that constantly tests our data and it proves to be one of the best, saying it IS the best would surely set me up for a fall!

The price would be determined on what your exact requirements are, by stating an amazing headline figure may not be a true reflection.

If you would like some additonal information then just let me know.

    Hi there,

We have a recently updated data list of over 850,000 business contacts across the UK - each of them have an email address. Let me know if you would like some more info and some samples. We are currently selling the whole list for £249.

    Cheers

    850,000 ....each with email addresses....

Great value. Equally great quality too, I bet!

Just how do you manage to do it for 0.03p when most others are 20p++++?

And just how do you manage to have so many more email addresses than any (and I mean any) of the large data houses? Are they just really rubbish at getting them?

    Yes it is fantastic value.

There are multiple entries for the same company - when this is the case there is always a different email address as each entry refers to a specific person within each company. I would say approximately 15-20 percent of the entries fall under this category.

If you would like a sample and some more information then send me a message.

    Regards,

I was taking the mickey. You're nothing more than a bunch of charlatans and you should be barred from sites like this, where you try to prey on the naive.

I've seen your samples before. Quite bemusing how each and every email address was forename.surname@domainname ...which coincidentally, was a completely exact match to the forename and surname you had.

If you visit webshotlocal.co.uk then perhaps that may answer a few questions

Yep, certainly did that. If you've had 850,000 companies register and pay you £99 each time, I applaud you!

If you'd achieved that in a couple of years or so, I'd have been really impressed. But to do so since 4th March 2010 (the date domain was bought) is simply remarkable! You must be quids in!

If 15-20% are same company, as you said, that'll leave around 700,000 paying £99. Almost £70,000,0000 turnover in 6 months. Wow!

I'm surprised you've got the time to spend here with us mere mortals, rather than living it up elsewhere!

I expect and will accept an apology.
    Still waiting?

Like I said the data was from a telemarketing company.

You didn't say that at all - check your post - not that it matters. You just referred me to your website, as though that would explain all.

If you saw the data you'd agree that £249 was a fair price. Company name and email address are the only fields which are 100% complete.

I'm sure £249 is a fair price for 850,000 records. I'm just not so sure that the overall records are good. But I am TOTALLY sure that the email addresses overall are not good and that many will be contrived - ie. made up.

You have no right plastering your assumptions all over my threads.

And you have no right touting a product here that will cause massive problems for the naive members that buy it.

Believe it or not, I like a deal. And believe it or not, on the surface, I think it seems really good ...and something I'd normally jump at. But... cut through it and what you're actually selling is a potential nightmare for your customer - they'll be blacklisted so fast, and their domain possibly even barred, it could be a serious disaster for them.

All in all, an extremely unethical sell...

One of the pitfalls of pitching anything here is that there'll be people in the know who can advise those who aren't. That's why I don't just have a right to plaster my views, I have an obligation!

I'd hope the time I am in need of an experienced view, that I'd get the same honesty too.

FWIW I thought the Testimonials page was a very nice touch. Strange that none of these people gushing about your superb services wanted you to publish their business name. Even more remarkable that none took the opportunity to have another link to their own website.

Testimonials without verifiable identification / links are worse than no Testimonials at all - except, perhaps, where complete muppets are concerned.
