Hi,

I'm looking to start a business where I collate my favourite items and sell them as gift sets (for dogs).

If I buy dog toys and treats wholesale, am I just allowed to sell them in my gift boxes without any kind of licence?

e.g If I buy some KONG branded toys wholesale, am I allowed to sell them onto my customers without getting permission from KONG directly?

I am not sure if you need any reseller agreement from KONG, or if you need a licence with the council etc?

Thanks!
Emma

Once you buy an item it is your to resell onto your clients.

There is a potential fly in the ointment, KONG might not like their product associated with the other items you sell with theirs. If it comes to their attention and they object, you might find it hard to buy from them in the future, or they might simply stop you buying altogether. These companies spend fortunes building a brand, market value etc.

Ferrari might not like to be associated with a mould killer product for instance.

With such a basic question, Can I respectfully suggest you do a lot more research into running a business and make sure you understand the consumer regulations and a basic understanding of trading regs plus insurance, as they may be vital to your future plans
I'd say it's fine to start small and test the water before deciding if it's a goer.

If you research everything to death before trying an idea you may never get started.
