Flippa is def. largest Marketplace for selling websites and online shops. Unfortunately it's way more popular in the US than in UK so if you have an eCommerce shop with physical UK presence (not dropshipping), it may not be that easy to get a decent price.

But you can still try! The listings are relatively cheap and you can always set reserve price.

Good luck with that.

I've been trying for about a month to buy websites, you would think with so many websites sitting idle the would be a good market but people just don't want to let go for some reason. The ones that do are looking silly money for rubbish sites.

Another one selling electronic cigs wanted £700 for complete crap. Amazon affiliates sites with no income are asking £800 and even whiteboard affiliate - basic link to a site is asking £180

You may have more luck, hope so but I don't understand why people feel sites that have already failed have such values.

I have an aged domain (2005) .co.uk been associated with a niche e-commerce offering since inception. Traffic isn't high about 500 / month, no real revenue at the moment as not stocked with selling items.

PR1 (was 2 but dropped in recent history)

I think the site is too niche so just thinking of listing the domain on Flippa - but will I be wasting my $29 listing fee, as I don't want to bother if it won't sell.

Any one with any experience of flippa?

I listed a PR3 site on flipps, I think I set the price a £50 but didn't get any interest at all.

I might be interested in your domain if you want to PM the details.

Finding potential clients to buy E-commerce sites can be a strain some days, part of my job is to locate and then screen potential buyers (we sell semi automated E-commerce online backup accounts, NAS and Sync Drives), we have our own site up and running and use this to show how the system works and is financially viable, but we wont sell to just anybody. Many people that look to buy an E-commerce site are after a get rich quick scheme, they dont want to put any effort in to retaining and locating new custom. which is why we build the site with them and give full training of the Integrated Billing and Support System, the market is full of affiliates and I agree with the this

had a quick look at the site, it seems very much 'blog like' not always a bad thing, i will remember it. What could you offer me as a regular e-commerce site seller, how long have you been in business, we only place a small number of adverts listing our sites that we have for built and put up for sale, we simply dont want to flood the market and cheapen our finished product, our sites compete with the likes of Carbonite, cloudelephant and Mozy etc

    Hi,
It might of interest for you to look at quick business sale co uk as this is a free place to search for business opportunities, ecommerce sites, tradenames and URL's for sale. You can also advertise an ecommerce site or opportunity that you have for sale. It is a clever site that is google friendly so buyers will find your sale.
Feel free to ask me any questions.
