Buying leads, and where to buy them

Hi everyone,

I run a printing company offering all small and large format. I have been using bark, but to be honest, when there is issues, I haven't found their customer support very helpful.

Can anyone recommend any other sites for this particular industry?

I have tried Google, but cannot seem to find what I'm looking for.

Could try some of the print management firms like APS or Altavia but you would need to price on the cheap side.

What kind of company is your most typical customer? I run a web service for finding newly formed companies on a monthly basis for direct marketing, but maybe that's not what you are looking for?

Print isn't a difficult business to market. You are scraping the bottom of the barrel buying leads though. Are the leads you buy the kind of clients you want?

Why not consider your own telesales person, generating inquiries just for yourself? Most leads you buy in will be useless, and probably issued to several competitors already.

Exactly. It's no different to buying lists of recently incorporated companies. The lists get sold to so many people that they are worthless.

Always be careful about who you buy leads from as lots of companies promise the world but actually you find the leads are not very helpful. Alex

Wouldn't bother buying leads, most will simply look at the price.

You need to find a niche, and excel at it.

There are trade houses churning out print at stupid prices, anyone can start up as a 'printer' with next to no overheads or barriers to entry.

You need to do, what they can't, and charge a premium for it

Most companies I know have identified their niche and are thriving, they confidently decline anything that doesn't fit their business.
