Hi guys, I am a full time working person who works various shifts, and have flexible hours.

I am looking to get on the property ladder soon and i am under 25 living with a parent. So i am interested in making money on the side to help me with this, does anyone have any ideas on what i can buy low and sell high? Or any advice on how to get a second income around my job. Please help!

I have tried earning money online doing surveys or clicking ads but it only provides a really small amount (1p an ad) also, i have sold things on ebay but this is not long term income.

Nobody will tell you where to buy low and sell high, that's a skill of traders which you will learn over the time

There are plenty of ways to earn a bit of extra cash. It really comes down to how much time you have spare and how much you want to earn.

Short term you could look at iPhone Apps (you'd obviously need an iPhone) such as Field Agent or Romler which pay you to carry out certain tasks on behalf of brands. Things such as checking stock on a shelf, taking a photo of certain products or asking a question to a member of staff. It's pretty easy money and if you live in or near a city, you could easily earn £25 - £50 per week for not much effort.

Mystery shopping is another way of earning extra money although this isn't instant and could take some time to get regular work.

For a more long term idea you could look at starting a blog. Find something you're interested in and create some useful content. You could put a few Google ads on the site, perhaps sign up to some affiliate programmes. Once you've got a really good list of posts you can then approach companies in the niche you're writing about to see if they want to work with you. Sponsored posts, banner ads, competitions - there are an enormous amount of ways you can generate an income with a blog!

Also, with a blog you really don't need to reinvent the wheel. Just find something you're passionate about and work really hard!

With eBay the best way I've found of buying and selling on there is to buy job lots and spilt them up. A great example of this is retro video games. I used to buy large collections from parents who's son/daughters had left for uni and they wanted a clear out and couldn't be bothered to list each game on its own even though they would make a lot more money.

Lastly, and most importantly, if you're serious about making some extra cash then everything I've mentioned above will allow you to do that. I'm certainly not saying it's easy but if you are determined and put the effort in, you will get what you want.
