Morning all

I need a little advice from experienced heads on here please..

I am in process of relocating my business to a more affluent area with regards to my customer base. The majority of my customers travel at least 45 minutes to visit me. I have taken the decision to move to a better all round location to help service the bulk of my customers better and also there is far more business that way aswell.

The problem is i also have 4 customers near my current location which have been good with me so i don't want to leave the area and drop them in it shall we say. These 4 customers have generated a good income in the last 12 months so am reluctant to just hand them over.

My thoughts were to speak to another local independant workshop and offer them the work.

What would anyone advice to do in my situation?

Every year, the grass on the other side of the fence looks greener to many entrepreneurs, and a change of place looks like the most promising path to growth. So they pull up stakes and move to a new place, where they hope to find better odds for business success than they had in their previous location.

Yeah thanks that was useful:|

Business relocation in new place is important if you want to increase your business productivity & success. It is good if you have a number of good customers there but it doesn't mean you can't be leave that place just because of them. If you'll relocate your business share this news with your old customer & give them proper address of your new place.

Thanks for advice

Having 2 units is not feasible, I've had enough problems with just one unit and finding suitably skilled staff to work there.

I was considering speaking to another local workshop and seeing if they would like to carry on my maintenance contracts for the customers i will be moving to far from. Obviously this is an easy add on to any workshop and will add regular work to their business.

Do you think it is acceptable to try and come to some sort of deal where i can charge them for this.

Would you as a business pay another business a commission etc if they were to pass on to you regular work?

Just to clarify when i say regular work i mean weekly work, The customers i am referring to spent £25k on maintenance since april 13 - present
