Business Plan

In the past I have never bothered writing a business plan. With my new venture I've decided that I want to write out a plan as well as carried out some solid market research.

Does anyone have experience, advice or go to places they could recommend to assist me with the plan?

Also, could anyone advise on market research - I will be developing a website which allows users to select merchandise(tshirts, cosmetic bags etc) they want to customise, they then use tools to make their on custom design, after payment they receive the item in a couple of days. As mentioned before in other posts, this is a bit more sophisticated than simply printing an image onto a tshirt - there is something a bit more unique about this idea.

Are there any market research companies out there who would go out to public etc to obtain information etc? I guess trust would be an issue.

Similar products of big shopping website, should with full information you searching for: could have a general view on Ebay or other website to see: how about the producst sales quantity, how about the products customers prefer to do custom design, more Tshirt or bag? how about the designs they prefer to do...could get a general reference information for your marketing.

Also could locate your customers( like young people of age 18~35), make some researching papers to put on your researching details on it, then direct the marketing researching, to get the useful information you want to know for marketing.

I would always advise doing a business plan even if you don't have to go to a lender. It means you have a thorough understanding of how your business is going to work. Crucial to its success. The gov.com website has lots of advice.
