I'm putting a business plan together at the minute and (using the template I was given) I'm at the "Products and Services" part.

At the moment we only offer a very basic product/service, with plans to develop it and more products/services when we have the money available. We already know what we are going to develop, so should I put it in this section, somewhere else, or should it be left out all together?

Hello

Alan Lakein once said, “Failing to plan is planning to fail.”

Many entrepreneurs write business plans only when they seek financing or start-up capital for their business. I have always felt that a business plan is an essential document to any business whether or not it is seeking capital. Yes, investors and bankers need a business plan to understand your plan, but more important than that is you being sure as to what you need and where you want to go!

The product/service section is one of the most critical elements of your business plan. This section tells the reader the exact products/services that you are offering, what are its key features, how they are unique and so on. If you have pictures of your product, well and good, put it in this section. Also your future plans about developing new products/services should also go in this section.

Feel free to ask any more questions that you might have.

Cheers!
D. Kishore
