Hi All,

I've got a few questions.

I've done a search on the net for the type of business name that I want, and luckily for me it hasn't been taken yet.

So when becoming a sole trader, how do I apply for my business name?

Do I just fill in the H M Revenue Customs form and write my business name there and thats it, it's registered?...or should I be registering it somewhere else like ww.start.biz?

thank you.

Business name and domain names are two different things, so don't do one and expect the other to be automatically yours. You need to register your business name with the authorities for setting up your business and then quickly go buy your domain name from any of the webhosting companies before someone else does.

If you are going to be a sole trader and use a trading name yes, you just inform HM Revenue & Customs when you register with them when you commence trading. You can either do this yourself or ask your accountant to deal with this for you.
