All i've read on setting up facebook page tells me to go through my own personnel account.

Can i not set up a normal account for business then via that setup the business page??

If best to do through own personel account, what happens if you have more than one business?

Any up to date links for advice on this subject would be great thanks.

Facebook doesn't allow business to create personal profiles. Personal accounts are for individuals, you need to use your real name.
If you use your business name on personal account, you might not have a problem at first but when Facebook catches you, they might close your account and you may lose all the friends that you add by then. It's harder to get followers on Facebook like page than personal page but that's how Facebook works.
Also, any start up business wishes to grow should follow the rules and regulations wherever they register /sign up /setup not to face with any issues in the future. I recommend you to follow regulations what Facebook asks.

Hi There,

As others have already explained you have to go through a personal facebook account in order to set up a facebook business page. You are allowed to set up more than one business pages on a single personal account.

We offer business facebook page set up and facebook advertising campaigns at reasonable prices if you are interested. The facebook business pages are set up in my personal account and then I can give you administration rights to manage your page. This way there is no need to set it up in your own personal facebook account.

Please let me know :)

Best Regards,

Tim

If you don't mind me asking, what kind of prices are you charging for these services, and what other services do you offer?

I ask as essentially it takes less than 5 minutes to set up a page and populate it with necessary information - and Facebook advertising campaigns take a similar amount of time, with the addition of card details and audience targeting.

Regarding other services that we offer that would be building ecommerce websites.
For a facebook business page we charge £50 and and £100 for a facebook advertising campaign (£50 to prepare the ad and get it approved by our client and £50 to set up and run the campaign).
Allow me to disagree with your comment that these jobs take 'less than 5 minutes'. The time you would need to invest in discussing with your customer what he needs on his business page, getting the image(s) from him and uploading, preparing the 'About Us' text uploading it/getting it approved/making changes, etc., take well over 5 minutes.

The client is required to provide all of the contact information and will likely have a significant role in sub editing any text which is displayed.

Setting up and fully populating a Facebook page to a professional standard would take significantly less than an hour's work.

Charging £100 (before actual advertising costs?) to create and get an advert up and running is pretty dear. When you set up a campaign you just go through a very simple interface:

To begin you click 'Create Advert' at the bottom of the web browser, or follow this URL: https://www.facebook.com/ads/create/

From here, you choose whether you with to advertise an existing Facebook page which you manage, an existing event on Facebook which you've created or if you would like to direct to a specific URL.

Once this is done, you choose a (up to 25 character) 'headline' for your advert which will be displayed on the top of your advert and then choose the main text of your advert (up to 90 characters). These must comply with the Facebook advertising guidelines, found here: https://www.facebook.com/ad_guidelines.php

Then you choose an image to be displayed with your advert (must be 100x72 pixels).

After this, you choose your audience which includes the following options:

Location to target
Age range
Gender
Interests
Campaign budget
Campaign dates

You'll be given a number of how many people are on Facebook that fall within your specifications, and from there you can choose your advertising budget, either per day - or for the period of your campaign.

The two options here are CPM (where you pay based on how many people see your advert) or CPC (where you pay based on how many people click your advert).

Once you do this, you click 'Place order' and fill in your payment details - from the facebook.com/ads dashboard, you can monitor the success of your campaign.

I'd say that's not much work to save £100.

Your 'Personal page' for your business could be closed down if someone reports it - I would try to push as many of your 'friends' from the personal account to like the business page. You can't convert a personal account into a page unfortunately.

What you can do is allow 'subscribers' (see here: https://www.facebook.com/about/follow) but this wouldn't be of much use to you. I would focus your efforts on the Page.

You have 170 friends on your facebook account which should have really been set up in your name rather than your business. I would agree with Andy that there is a risk of this being shut down and then you would also lose the business page.
On the business page you have only 20 'likes'.

I would therefore suggest that the safest would be to set up a new facebook account in your own name, create a new business page on this account, copy/paste the content from the existing page and then ask your 170 friends to simply 'like' the new page. You could also ask those 20 likes to go and like the new page.

Alternatively you could invest in us doing this for you and additionally/optionally invest in a facebook ad campaign with us in order to drive more traffic to your new page, despite the fact that Andy feels that we are too expensive

Making an alternative business page would only lead to duplicates.

Surely Hevs can just change the personal details on her existing Facebook Profile to match her personal ones (as she would with LinkedIn) and continue to manage her existing page from that account.

Hevs, if you need help going to https://www.facebook.com/settings and clicking 'edit' on your name then I'd be happy to help at a reasonable price ;)

I've just transferred my business page from one facebook account to my personal one by simply giving full admin rights to the business page to my personal account and then removing admin rights to the business page from the account I had set up for the business and then closing this account. If you search on "how do i transfer my business page to another facebook account" there are quite a few sites that give instructions on this.
