Business equipment insurance?

Am looking for just business equipment insurance - ie, insurance for computer equipment and stock in office premises.

Already have public liability and employers liability - just need to insure all the electricals and stock in the premises.

Anyone know of where I can get an insurance policy just for this?

Most policies I've been checking seem to insist on covering everything, and there seems little point in getting insurance that covers what I've already insured!

Yes you can, but as the whole industry is geared up to selling small business insurance packages, the chances are it would be dearer.

When are your liabilities due, and are you able to cancel them?

We do have options available depending on what you do as a trade.

Also, if you have an off the shelf public liability policy the chances are it doesn't cover liabilities at your premises (as the policies are designed for working away), so the overlap would be minimal.

Feel free to pm me your details and I can get in touch and discuss your options with you.

Lockyer is correct in that the industry is now geared up to package style policies but there are insurers that will offer you the option to insure just the items that you requested, whilst allowing you to maintain your current liability policy. I can arrange that for you if that is what you specifically require and I have a dedicated arrangement with an insurer that should (I don't know the full details of your business yet) allow me to help with that.

Having said that, you would be limiting the number of insurers that would be interested in quoting if you wanted to go down that line. Cancelling the liabilities and arranging a new policy to cover all of your business might be a simpler option - there are advantages in the event of a claim as all of your cover would be with one insurer rather than split between two.

You have referred to 'stock' in your post - many 'office' package insurance policies don't cover stock as standard, as many offices offer a service rather than a product. Other Retailer policies will allow for this though so you may need a retailer rather than an office policy.

I'd be happy to help if you still require assistance. You can call me on 01270 252 252.

Hope above is of some assistance in the meantime.
Philip.
