Hi, thanks for flagging this.

The counter is counting old business listings that are in a "deleted" state (ie, not actively listed in the business directory anymore but still listed in our database). This is something that can be fixed, and I'll add it as a bug for our devs to work on.

In the meantime, however, I have removed the counter so as not to cause any further confusion until the bug can be fixed.

Thanks again!

Good to know, thanks

What happened to the old directory, and are those deleted listings coming back or has something changed?

Good to know, thanks

The old directory was updated to the new style in late 2021 when we rolled out a visual update to the whole of the site.

Entry into the business directory is only available to users that have an active Business Membership (or previously a "Full Membership" under UKBF's last owners). Upon auditing the system last year we noted that users that had created listings did not have their listings archived once their membership ended.

In November 2022 we removed the listings for all users without active Business Memberships. If they were to reactivate their membership, they could restore their listings. In addition, not all of our active Business Members have chosen to create listings.

Please let me know if you need anything else :)
