Business Coach Mentor Wanted

Hi,

I am new to the site and this is my first post. I have recently, yesterday decided to start my coaching business on business, entrepreneurship and health. I am looking for someone who would like to mentor me in this area, preferably someone retired and would love to hand down some knowledge they have picked up over the years to a new and exciting business. As I'm sure all of you are aware starting up a business comes with costs, therefore I must emphasize that I'm not looking to hire a coach.

My outcome is to find a mentor to learn from and guide me in the coaching world. If you think this is you, please get in touch.

Many thanks,

Stephen :D

Yes, I too say what cheek! If you're asking to be taught for free how to make money coaching others then perhaps you need to be aware that you are likely to be shot down. However, if you don't ask you don't get!!

Hi guys,

Thanks for all your support; it would seem there has been some prejudgment going on. I'm not here to tell you what you should or should not think. I'm sure you are all intelligent enough to think for yourself.

I will reiterate that I am not looking for a coach. All I can do is explain my understanding of a coach and a mentor.

Coach - For me this is someone how is hired to help someone/company/organisation get better results in their chosen area, for example marketing, profits, etc.

Mentor - Someone who has extensive knowledge in a chosen field and helps others by sharing their experience out of the goodness of their heart and to contribute back to society. Quite often these types of people have had a very successful career and to see someone else grow with their help is very rewarding.

Having not long finished Robert Kiyosaki's audio "Choose to be rich" (for those of you who are familiar with it) Robert suggests seeking a mentor to help progress with business. He also suggests getting a coach as well and talks about his coaches and mentors. Money is not the only currency in this world and I’m not looking to leach information of someone despite how the post reads. I am comfortable with what I’m looking for and wanted to take action on the advice I had learned to see if there was any good people out there wishing to help me. I have the tools to coach and have already started; I am not the type to stop learning just because I call myself a coach.

I don't take offence to any of the comments and hope this helps explain what I’m looking for.

Here is the thing, the mentor wouldn't be contributing to society, he would be contributing to you as an individual. I mentor young business people via a system, they are in many cases people who slipped through the net or have a criminal past. By doing this I am helping society (or at least I convince myself I am) :p

How is working with you to build your business, that makes you profit, 'contributing to society'?

Don't get me wrong, I wish you well, but what you are asking for is a business service for free! You can dress it up in any way you want, but all I see is someone with their hand out wanting free help in return for nothing whatsoever.

I agree with the last bit that seeing somone grow is massive reward, but your post is very me me ish.

Stephen,

Whilst I understand what you are trying to achieve, I think you will have more success if you were at least to offer something back in return, now that does not need to be financial at this point (maybe later) but a little offering sometimes will go a long way.

Good Luck,

Craig

My background is residential property. I started buying and selling new developments in 2001 to 2005 (back to backs). Then moved on to purchase a Re/Max Estate Agency Franchise in 2006 which failed, however it paid as my learning into business. I then concentrated on below market value property purchasing between 2006-2008 building a small portfolio of rented properties with a buy and hold strategy. After reading rich dad poor dad I then purchased a launderette in a no money down deal which I grew from a turnover of virtually 0 as the owner only opened at random times due to other commitments to 70k per year. I also have a home domestic cleaning company in its infancy, started in May 2012 originally to cater for the laundry customers, now with the vision of covering the Glasgow and Paisley area.
My main strength is in growing businesses that operate without the owner being hands on allowing them to operate on the business rather than in it.
In terms of health I have been vegan since 2007 and have managed to cure my hayfever, acne on my back, improve my eyesight and reduce my insulin dose by 80% learning raw and vegan eating as well as how to cure the body naturally without the aid of pharmacies or drugs.

Hope this helps give an overview of my experience.

Cheers

Don't take the ribbing hard Stephen (in fact you're taking it quite well). Sometimes it feels like an initiation hazing, although nothing on par with rushing a fraternity in the 80's, I can assure you :p

If you ever want to talk marketing, feel free to give me a shout. You can call it mentoring, coaching or just shooting the breeze... but hopefully we'd both get something out of it (robb.sands on Skype).

Thanks old welsh guy; your comments are very well appreciated. I'm not a me me me person despite it coming across that way.
And I am not for not giving back in fact I volunteer ant many events around the country for free paying my own way and never looking for anything in return. I would be happy to give something in return for a mentor.

In respect to contributing to society, my take on that is that perhaps the mentor would not be contributing directly, however they would most definitely be contributing indirectly if I can be the medium to serving others. All I'm looking for is someone to hold me accountable whilst I go through my journey as a coach and offer some sound advice on the way. My post may well appear me me me and if nothing else I've already learned something. Change my post! lol

I've gone too long in my life not seeking help so asking for it now is very hard so I apologise if I am coming across selfish. If I knew another way of putting it I would. Maybe someone can help me with that? lol

Craig - happy to offer something in return. Thanks for your comments.

Hi Stephen,
There is a huge business and personal need for your business venture and it is sure to do well. I have been into coaching and training for over 18 years and have seen the emergence of digital and social media make inroads into this primarily offline business. Coaching, traditionally, was a lot about your own aura and charisma rubbing off on attendees. However as the life and career options have exploded in the recent past with the negative side of depression, lifestyle disease and 'capabilities-insecurities' people can be helped online as well as offline. I also saw your freelancer-dotcom job post for he creation of a new website. I could help you both as a business mentor and marketing strategist: helping you with website- copy+visualisation+layout, relationship marketing (eZine, emailers) and social media profiles/marketing - blog, linkedin, slideshare, ePR etc

Send me a mail on my personal email ID-anshumali_saxena-at-yahoodotcom and my skype ID is anshumalisaxena. You could also see my work ratings on freelancer-dotcom (my profile is under my brand name 'creativemessiah')

Hope to get e-connected with you soon.

With best wishes.
Regards
Anshumalii
