business card query

hello there my name is Philip

I am coming to the end of preparing to advertise my business and start trading

I have had some leaflets and business cards designed but I am just finishing off the business cards ready for print.

the business cards clearly state my company name and logo, services provided ie "garden maintenance and cleaning services" my contact name, number and email.
but just a small dilemma of the card looking slightly empty and would like to just finish off with perhaps some simple information to make it look advertising to the eye and hopefully bring the custom.

I am just simply after some small ideas of what else to perhaps put on the business card. I don't want to flood it with information as the leaflets should hopefully provide the vital information but as I say the business card just needs finishing with a few small words.

sorry for the simple questions, sometimes my imagination isn't great!

I am also in the middle of having some embroidery printed to some t shirts with the company logo on the front and "garden maintenance and cleaning services with contact number on the back"

opinions welcome good or bad..

thanks again.

regards , philip

Phillip,

Be sure not to use miniscule print that the over 50s can't read. Make sure you have a call to action, ie a reason why someone should investigate further. Finally, get half a dozen business cards, add yours to the collection, and test on say 10 different people you don't know and ask them which card arouses their interest the most and why. That will give you an idea how good it is. As you know most cards literally end up in the bin. Reduce that from happening by finding out what people really think. The market is always right. Test as well with your leaflets as what goes on them makes a big difference to response rates.

As the others have mentioned, simple is better.
If you are speaking to someone and they want a bit of info, you can jot it on before giving them card, but can't take anything off so less is more in this case.

If you think it is too empty, put a call to action or a tag line on it such as - the grass is always greener on my side!
Something corny but memorable.

Just keep your business card simple but contains significant information. You can use two sides of the business card to utilize it. One side is the logo and the company name. On the other side you can put your name, job title, contact info( address of the company if available, business site, phone number, email and at least one social media acct). If there are still slot available, you can include a summary(in bullet forms) a list of the main services your company offered. This will tell people that you and your company exist and that you are reachable in any platform in case they want to communicate with you. I hope this helps Philip!

Simplicity is the best way to express yourself or present your company. Keeping simple business card is good ideas, but contain should have useful. As mixtureofmarket mentioned, you can have two side business card (one side logo, tagline and another side your name, designation, address, but along with this if you can add QR code of your business website then it can be a value added.
