Process is fairly straightforward and easy to complete an application online but a face-to-face meeting is likely to be required after the application has been processed .

If limited company you may be asked for share certificate and articles of association but not all banks ask for this. You may also need a letter from your accountant providing specific details about your company. If you apply online you will be asked for all of the required documents so you can be prepared rather than turning up to a branch empty handed.

What's needed to set one up? Or do you just walk into the bank and ask for one?

Thanks

You can do it online or by calling into a branch.

If you go into one of the high street banks they will generally book an appointment with a business manager (it'll probably be the first and last time you'll see them :)) they'll do the form filling, you'll generally need proof of your ID and the certificate of incorporation if you have a company. Be prepared for the hard sell too, most will try and encourage you to sign up for software and services which you can generally get cheaper elsewhere.
