Business bank account business address dilemma!!

Hi guys,

I'm sure this is a common problem and have had a search through the forums but can't find the answer

Myself and two partners are setting up a retail business in the Uk. We are trying to open a business bank account to each make our initial deposits so we can start renting a property, however the banks all ask for a business address, which we obviously won't be able to purchase until we have an account!

How do we get around this?

Thanks

Michael

Hi thanks for reply. We don't have a registered business office as my understanding is that this is not necessary in a general partnership (though happy to be proved wrong on this..!)

Apologies - just assumed it would be under a LTD company.

In that case, I agree with Andy, just use one of your home addresses and change it once you have a place of work.

We offer a virtual office address service for your business use and it can be used as an address for banking purposes.

But you can just give the bank your home address - you don't have to have business premises.

Are the bank asking you for your address for purposes of opening the account, or just a business address for the mail to be sent to?

Banks will always need your home address verification document such as driving licence, gas bill, etc, just as any virtual office supplier does too, so I don't see why you can't just give them your home address as your business address.

...unless you are not currently resident in the UK and so you don't even have a UK address of any type and that's why you are stuck for opening the account?
