Hi guys,

Before anyone shoots, I have searched on this to no avail.

I'm looking to do a large mail out B2B to push a product I'm trying to sell.

The aim is to post via second class mail several thousand items...potentially per month.

I know there are a few companies out there that sell discount stamps, but can anyone suggest a way of saving a significant amount of money as Royal Mail's postage charges really start to add up when posting volume.

I'm aware of smart stamp but they are offering no savings, it actually costs more when you take into account the £4.99 a month subscription.

Hi,

Google mailsort options, essentially fulfilment houses will pre-sort your mail thus cutting out some of the costs with a second class stamp down to 17-18p for example.

Here is some info robbed from the Royal Mail site.

Mailsort® 120, and 700
There are two Mailsort® machineable options (with 3 delivery options):

Mailsort® 120

Items must be machineable (have to go through accreditation process to ensure mail format is machine readable)
Items to be presented in bags, or if over 20,000 (a single selection) then you may choose to present the posting in trays
Mailsort® 700

Items must be machineable (have to go through accreditation process to ensure mail format is machine readable)
Items to be presented in bags, or if over one million (a single set of selection) then you may choose to present the posting in trays
Mailsort® 120 is a cost-effective choice for your business if you:

Want to make savings by carrying out some basic preparation
Send large volumes of letter-format mail in the UK
Can ensure that items are addressed with Optical Character Recognition (OCR) font or typefaces OR feature a Customer Bar Code (CBC) and that 90% of addresses have the correct postcode
Can sort your mail into selections based on our mail centres (full details can be obtained from the Mailsort® Database)
Mail at least 4,000 Letters in a single posting
Mail items that meet our Letter format requirements:
weigh up to 100g

we use ukmail & tnt, they collect, charge less and frank it for us, far better than royal mail. the minimun number of items is 250 as far a i know

Just supply the letter (word file or pre-printed), leaflet or what ever you want to send and a database and they can sort the rest.
