I'm suprised so few of you have mentioned Aweber, It's some simple to use and has lots of great plug in's... and it's cheap as chips. $19 a month, after a free 30 day trial, I even have an affiliate link but can't be bothered to post it up... I'm a lazy ass.

I don't know what a honeypot is but I have installed a required field that uses a radio button asking for explicit opt in. This way, only human users can sign up. Bots should be filtered out.

That isn't double opt-in and yes spam bots will quickly figure out how to use a radio button to get access to the list.

Double opt-in is where a user signs up for your email list you then send them an email with a link in it that they have to click and only then do you start sending them emails. That ensures that only the email address owners can sign up for your list and if for whatever reason they decide not to sign up to your email list they can just not click on the link in the first email you send.

Mailchimp would probably be your best option.
