Building security

(cannot figure out if this is the right forum section?)

We're about to start the building project for our new business, which involves constructing a small (12x7m) building in our 'grounds' for use as a pre-school/nursery.

The location is not visible from our house or the road and we're in a fairly rough area, so some sort of security seems prudent.
I've seen 3 main types of tech advertised and am unsure what might be best:
  1. Older style recorder box with (normally wired) cameras. I think they support remote access over the web but are more geared at recording rather than alerting you(?)
  2. Modern online-based smart-systems that will phone you or whatever and let you see through the (normally wireless) cameras and even talk through them.
  3. Traditional house alarms which will notify some security/police.
We don't want to go overboard on this and in reality there isn't going to be much to steal - so it's a deterrent we want so people decide not to bother, mainly.

I guess a lot of people here have done this for shops or small businesses or their homes - so any thoughts or recommendations or stories what you did and what it cost are very welcome.

Thanks.

You got planning permission for a school in the grounds?
No we're just going to hang on the kerb inviting children into the garden.

Can do all 3.
Watch out for squatters.

Decent windows and doors is probably the single most effective deterrent. Someone cannot get in by trying a bit they may find easier places.
Thanks. Obviously I can do all the above but it sounds pricey. I'm interested to hear what different people use or have used and the pros/cons. Some of these things you can just buy on Amazon but others are a bit more specialist.
