I am looking to rent space to build a recording studio. I was wondering can the space be rented or does it have to be bought for this type of business?

Also, does anybody have a directory for renting places in London/NW Kent

Much appreciated.

I wouldn't rent a space and then build a recording studio, too many variables with renting and I think that the recording equipment is A) expensive and B) a buuger to install and then have unistall and relocate, should you get a muppet of a landlord.

Much depends on the type of syudio you want ot build??

A very basic set up. PC based, can be quite effective in a relatively small space (many home studios are build this way), but a full spec studio can take up quite a lot of space and needs quite expensive soundproofing, so its not really a good idea to rent space.

It all depends on the type of feel you want for the space, going for a country house style look (efffectively a house with a barn attached - the house provides accomodation for musicians and offices and the barn becomes a studio) or a warehouse style (a large unit on an industrial estate fitted out to suit your needs), at the end of the day it comes down to the budget available.

for commercial property google....egpropertylink
