Hi,

Looking to lease a warehouse but can't find any DP/Telephone Socket whatsoever, and no poles or wires coming in.

Is there extra charges to be paid for digging/new poles etc?
I asked my ISP and they said they don't know until I book the installation. :|

Put a clause in the lease saying the landlord is responsible for any install costs for a phone line, as it's them who will get the benefit if you move out.

Is there an installation charge?

If you're switching your line from another supplier, in most cases there isn't a charge as we'll try to use the existing phone line on your premises. However in some instances, e.g. switching from cable to BT or where an engineer visit is required, there will be an installation charge.

On all other orders an installation charge will apply - £99 on a 24-month contract, £112 on a 12-month contract.

The installation charge is fixed as long as BT don't want to charge more ;)

But to answer your question, as long as it's a "standard" install (eg a pole nearby with capacity that they can run a cable from) it should just be the standard installation charge (shop around - this can vary from provider to provider).

Also be aware that the £99 rises because they add VAT and admin costs. Our installation came to £150.30 by the time they billed us. That was just for reconnecting us at the exchange box in the next street. We didn't require any cables.
