wAnyone having problems with BT Broadband today.

I've lost connection a couple of times, broadband seems slow and having just checked my IP it says I am in Warrington which is over 120 miles away.

We've not had any issues from any of our client that are on BT Broadband (more than usual anyway). There are a few isolated issues showing on BT's major incident board, so you may be affected by that.

The IP location isn't unusual - to be honest it's very unusual for them to be right to that level of details as it comes down to where the router/POP is. I'm actually in Warrington and my IP location doesn't say I am!

I know the locations are generally not that accurate, but I'm normally Oxford, Didcot, Northants (all within 30 miles)
Since losing connection and rebooting router it's now showing as Warrington for the 1st time.

It may be that BT have shifted a range of IPs they used to route through Warrington to your exchange and haven't submitted any new location information.

Alternatively its a strange PPP assignment that may be going on if they have an issue somewhere.

Unfortunately a bit of a guessing game.
