Hello
I have an ongoing problem with BT, my internet stopped working sometime in January, so I contacted my internet provider (02). They informed me our telephone line was being moved to another telephone provider, hence the reason why the internet had stopped working.
I then contacted BT (my telephone provider), who incorrectly informed me that I had cancelled the line. After going back and forth, they gave me another excuse, that I had given a telephone provider permission to take over my line. After 8 weeks of discussion they admitted a ghost number was picked up on the exchange server. I wrote a letter of complaint to BT to which they have not apologised or accepted they were at fault. I have asked them for compensation which they responded with an offer of £36.
I sought to take the matter further so I went to my local CAB, who informed me that I should write to Otelo who are an independed complaint office for Telecommunication companies. However Otelo is funded by the Telecommunication companies, so I doubt they will be inpartial in deciding whether I'm due more compensation from BT.
Have anyone gone through Otelo and have successfully been compensated from BT. Is there any other avenue I can explore.
Thanks in advance for your responses.
