Hello, I've recently just started up a LTD company and I am looking to file my accounts using some software.

I attended a freelancing event last month and heard some fantastic things about both Brightbook and FreeAgent. Preferably I would like free software to begin with as I am initially in a fundraising stage for my business and only have a couple of transactions each day to record.

For those that have had experience with these software packages, what do you think? Brightbook 'looks' very inviting, as a creative it looks like this kind of package is made for small businesses like myself and it is also free - but FreeAgent looks very professional with a lot of added features but for around £25 a month I would want to know what makes it so special.

Thank you!

When you say you want to 'file' your accounts what do you mean?

As an accountant working with a lot of new and small businesses I have a few clients who use Freeagent and they dont have any issues with it that I'm aware of. I've had a few people change to Accounts Portal as for them it did them same but was cheaper.

I've not used Brightbook at all and am not aware of any of my firms clients using it.

If you want a free package have you looked at VT cashbook - it has limited features but it does enable you to record in's and out's and will produce a basic profit and loss account and balance sheet.
