Bounce Rate

Hi ghome

A bounce rate below 50% could be considered reasonable.

A lot depends on where your traffic is coming from;

ie if your traffic is 100% PPC (pay per click) then there may be an issue with your adwords account.

However, I'd be concentrating on what % of your visitors converts into business, as this is the nubmer that really counts.

Hope this helps

2 -3% is an average conversion rate. Again, it depends where your traffic is coming from. If you have very targeted traffic and you are only getting 2 - 3% then it's probably low. If you are generating organic search engine traffic then 2 - 3% is average.

We have always worked on the principle that below 35% is a good bounce rate, anything above and the site needs to be reviewed or our marketing keyword strategy changed.

We are currently 33% and we are happy with that, but personally I would like to see it below 30%

Our conversion rates had to be at least 3% or we switched off the ad !

When we started, the conversion rates were attrocious, but we soon got the hang of the ad wording which is the real key, but only when used with properly planned targetting and geo-targetting. We were averaging between 4-6% on most CTR's.

We soon realised less traffic but more focussed was the best solution.

We also concentrated on organic while the campaigns were going until the organic was bringing in as much as the ad words, now we don't do ad words at all!

It is worth saving your efforts for the organic stuff. But only in my opinion, there's many who would disagree.

Bounce rate means that user is coming to your site but they are going back just from the entrace page.It means there may be some problem in your landing page.So u must do some changes in the homepage.Try to make it more effective. You should update the contents in your home page.Make your home page more live and happening and always keep your promises in your home page which are made in the description of your site. So the user will stay at your site. I hope it will help you in decreasing the bounce rate.
