Booking System with Payment Suggestions

Hi everyone

Can anyone recommend a booking system plugin that will allow me to configure the following:
  • Date picker to allow customer to pick start date of hire (always starting on a certain day of the week for a pre-defined number of days, in my case 4 or 7)
  • Offer upsells pre-checkout
  • Credit/debit card and PayPal payment options
  • Option to pay a deposit or full amount at checkout
Nice to have functionality
  • Integration with email service provider(s) so customer can enter sales journey upon purchase, ie. reminders to pay final balance before hire begins, info relating to hire, after sales follow up etc.
  • Ability to send follow up invoice for remaining balance if only paid deposit at time of booking
  • Integration with Quickbooks online
I’ve found the choice out there quite overwhelming and am reluctant to spend on a premium option before knowing it can service my requirements. That said, I am more than happy to pay for a decent product, whether that’s a one-off fee or monthly subscription.

Thanks
Sam

I'm assuming you need this to work on Wordpress as you posted this into the Wordpress Support forum; if that isn't the case say and I'll move this thread...but on the basis this is a question related to Wordpress...

It sounds like you will need a combination of plugins doing different aspects of what you need. For example the Quickbooks integration will be one plugin itself, and then you'll need something like Woocommerce with plugins for bookings and the payments. With the number of plugins I'd probably recommend working with a web developer familiar with Wordpress to pull these together for you.

    Thanks Ozzy

Yes, you’re right, I’m looking for a solution in Wordpress. There’s a lot of choice out there so I’d hope there’s a solution that can tick most if not all boxes so just looking to see if anyone has implemented something similar and what was used.

There are a number of approaches to this the devil is in the detail and I suspect the logic you need is quite nuanced and will have a few more steps than you first imagine.

    However,

Woocommerce does have a deposits extension available, and there are booking extensions that create bookable products in woocommerce.

Not all of your products are bookings, there will be consumables too. So woocommerce can cross sell these too.

Of course some of your bookings could cross sell other bookable products. That's where the fun begins, as you would hope that the offered cross sold bookable product was also available on the same date range.

There needs to be some sort of separation between making the booking, taking the money and fulfilling the order.

What if they pay cash on collection?
What if you want a damages deposit?
What if customer A doesn't return item B back on time for customer C.

It's a detailed look at the workflows of all of the edge cases that will help you unpick what is the most friendy.
