Blinging up my theme

I've built a wordpress theme. What I need is for a clever graphic designer to make it zing.

Oh dear @fisicx, you'd be the first to chastise someone for a tender like that.

How about a design brief?

That's the problem, because I'm rubbish at design I don't know what I want.

The theme functions ok, it just looks a bit boring.

So what I want is someone with a eye for colours, fonts, padding, margins and other design features to make it look a bit more wow.

OK. OK I get the hint.

But none of these are much help. I did quite like this: https://gillion.shufflehound.com/home/home-6/ but the other demos of this theme all suck.

Exactly - proves my point ( worst sort of client )

All I can say is the background is distracting ( I guess you don't see them on mobiles & tablets - but you will probably tell me you tested it )

Not sure about that. Isn't a client that understands their own limitations a good client? One who can be satisfied as long as there is trust?

At the moment the theme looks like it was designed by an engineer. That's a double edged remark as looking at the functionality it seems to me rather well engineered, just lacking in visual appeal.
