As a small business owner, do you love it, loathe it, feel indifferent towards it...?
And don't forget we have cyber Monday to look forward too![]()
I just ignore it as another piece of American hype. We are a high street retailer with a website and just like to follow the John Lewis strategy of good value and fair prices. As a small business owner, do you love it, loathe it, feel indifferent towards it...?

Indifferent but laugh at all those who go crazy to save a few quid
Love it. Lots of sales.
The business is focused on basically Black Friday and the following 3 weeks. In the past have done 50% of annual turnover in that short time period.
Hey Mr D
I'm writing a blog post on Black Friday for the UKBF blog and would love to hear a bit more about your experiences. Could you tell me a bit more about how Black Friday impacts your business? For example:
- What is your business and what sort of offers and deals you run for BF?
- How these benefit your business?
- Any tips for other small business owners to make the most out of this time of year?
Do post your thoughts here or DM me if easier![]()
American style tacky faux-bargain rubbish!
Im not sure anybody’s fooled by it.
It may well be one of the many American traditions that we have adopted with open arms but not all of the price reductions are artificial nor the products tacky.
For anyone wanting Alexa products Black Friday or the Boxing Day sales are a good time to buy them and BMW offer genuine reductions on some of their "connected" products too
