Bigcommerce paypal checkout issue

Hi all, I am having a bit of an issue at the moment, basically when someone uses paypal to pay on our site they have to choose their delivery option first (as in all transactions), so if they select standard 1st class delivery and then choose to pay through paypal we would have to send 2nd class recorded and pay for the extra price of the delivery. This is too ensure we don't get defrauded.

Unfortunately bigcommerce don't allow me to restrict certain payment options when a customer pays through certain payment methods.

An idea I had was to add a 2nd class signed for option in the payment method section and in brackets next to the standard 1st class delivery option write ( cannot be used with paypal), I then have to hope that customer will not choose the 1st class standard option or I lose out on delivery.

Our profit margins are not high to afford to lose extra profit, especially when added with the paypal fees. however we really don't want to lose paypal as an option if possible.

Would that option above of writing in brackets be the best option or would customers just ignore it? if anyone can help me with any other way or idea to deal with this problem it would be great. Also has had the same or similar issues with this on bigcommerce?.

Thanks

Hi, thanks for the reply, I am using sage which which I prefer and is very trusted by our customers and we have never had an issue with them over the years.

I can't offer a flat rate delivery rate as some customers prefer other options like recorded or next day delivery.

I do offer free delivery for any orders over £30 which is fine for me even with paypal buyers. The problem is if someone buys a £10 item and uses Paypal I cannot restrict their delivery method which means 90% of the time they will choose 1st class and I will then have to pay the extra to send it recorded, which is annoying on top of the Paypal commision fees.

I can't understand why bigcommerce don't allow me to select specific payment methods for this.
