We signed a contract 3 years ago for provision of WEEE services.
In year 2 we negotiated a price reduction based on market competition.
In year 3 [ now ] we are advised of a +50% increase, and the provider announced it within a period where cancellation was not an option, due to there being 3 months notice required to cancel on-going contractual services. [ according to them ]
This contract we signed in 2008 we don't have a copy of to hand.
We don't mind paying the invoice [ under GBP500 ] if we are contractually obliged to do so, and have requested a copy of the contract to check our legal position.
The provider is ignoring our request for this, and being generally awkward
We have registered with them our dispute, however bearing in mind the costs that could accrue should we stick to our position, our advice thus far is to pay the invoice under protest, and counter sue them.
Are there any better ways to proceed on this ?
