Best software for emails

Hello Mike here,

I am new here and really looking forward to sharing any knowledge that I have and looking for a little advice of my own.

Coronavirus has majorly impacted our business however we used that time to retune a couple of strategies within.

One of the key issues identifyed is that there was not a platform for everyone to login and send/recieve/share emails. Everyone was using their own app like Mail or spark and a lot of emails went missing etc .. What is the best software or app employees can log in to send / receive / share emails from the company?

We use, G-suite from Google.

No complaints.

In the past, I used Mozilla Thunderbird which is free and very good.

By the sounds of it you use pop3 protocol instead of imap or exhange. This needs to be addressed first. For sharing mails distribution groups is a must have too.

I use Thunderbird. Never had any problems with it in many years. Free, lots of extensions which make it very flexible.

Missing emails sounds more like a problem with your mail server. Who provides that?

Missing emails could be caused by anything but it's unlikely a problem with the email client (either the server or the user's configuration of the email client). That said I understand and agree with you that having one platform for everyone is a lot easier to manage.

If you just want email, take a look at Fastmail. Excellent service, fantastic webmail interface and quite good mobile apps. No need to use email clients with the power of their webmail.

If you think you may benefit from other features such as chat, productivity suites etc then look at Google's G-Suite or Microsoft's Office 365. These will be more complicated to set up but cover your email and a whole lot more.
