Hi,

I work as an SEO for a large business directory. Each company listing belongs to a multiple category pages. For example a local London restaurant is listed under:

Home > London > Food & Drink in London > Restaurants in London > Intalian Restaurants in London

and:

Home > London > Acton (london area) > Food & Drink in Acton > Restaurants in Acton > Intalian Restaurants in Acton

The current breadcrumb of that local restaurant is:

Home > London > Acton (london area) > Food & Drink in Acton > Restaurants in Acton > Intalian Restaurants in Acton

My question is:

1. What is the best practice for that breadcrumb? I'm planning to remove the unimportant pages from listings breadcrumb and to include only important ones, so the breadcrumb will look like:

Home > London > Intalian Restaurants in London > Intalian Restaurants in Acton

The main reason i want to do that is because currently the link juice flows through many unimportant pages such as: "Food & Drink in Acton".

Please share your opinion.

Thanks in advace for your help.

You should think about probable queries and then decides the breadcrumbs (which are your potential pages for ranking also). So what people search for restaurant query, "x type of" restaurants in "abc place". So I would keep London> Acton> Italian restaurant. I don't see any reason to add Italian restaurants in London or Italian Restaurant in Acton in bread-crumbs.
