Best platform for e-marketing?

We can go years without a client making an enquiry about emarketing solutions - generally we build into their CMS functionality which lets customers email their (usually small) client base directly from the back end of their website.

With our own (not cheap) dedicated server, Id be hesitant to offer such functionality to someone with 1000+ clients, not wanting to end up with the server on blacklists, etc.

Can anyone recommend any good, easy to use, and most importantly reasonably priced e-marketing platforms, which allow clients to mail customers without hefty subscription or per-email price tags?

Facebook and Twitter

The number of "newsletters" being sent to my email address has drastically reduced over the last few years, and I bet many people never really use their email account, but have notifications straight to their phone for FB & Twitter - so target this I'd say.
