PaymentSense are a reputable company - disclosure we have done some work with them before. But we are also in the process of migrating a few of our e-commerce clients over to use their payment processing.

What is the cheapest / best merchant account for a small online shop?

We found this company called "paymentsense" that looks good. Has anyone here used them?

Hi, I'm with PaymentSense.

PaymentSense are fairly new to the UK market but growing incredibly fast. We specialise in serving Small-Medium UK Businesses with payment solutions including e-commerce, chip & pin, GPRS (mobile) Terminals, Business bank accounts and other merchant facilities.

PaymentSense are Independent and absolutely unique in the market offering Capped rates, 24/7 UK service, 24hr hot swap, setup in days (most providers take 4-6 weeks average) - no other provider in the UK offers all this.

We have many happy customers (including UKBF members) who I'm sure will vouch for the excellent level of service and prices.

We compete directly with services offered by the known brands such as BarclayCard, Streamline, HSBC and Cardnet and openly invite you to compare rates and services offered.

Get a quote during October and you'll be entered into a free draw to win an iPad - just click the link in my signature.

Payment sense declined our application because they consider our company "high risk". I personally thinks its low risk but that their opinion.

We are now applying with a company called "Card Save" they seem quite good. Has anyone used them?

For anyone who is interested there is a Zen Cart module for PaymentSense at 1st4webshops.com

Hope this helps.

Note this is not not an official plugin and PaymentSense have no links with this company - we will be launching a developers portal on Monday where you can download a plugin for ZenCart (and many others) for free, these have been developed in-house and are reguarly maintained and supported.

If you need a plugin before Monday you can PM me and I will have our integration support team provide the files and documentation.

It would be great to hear about your business model as we support many non traditional business models (many deemed 'high risk') and would be happy to discuss your payment requirements.

PM me if you are interested.

Hi,

We've managed to help a few UKBF members successfully apply for merchant accounts through our contacts recently. PM me your contact details and I can have someone call you today to discuss.

We provide a low cost payment gateway with all profits going to charity.

Marc.

Might be an old thread, but I'm still interested.

I've just received a quote from Payment Sense for a mobile GPRS terminal to accept credit card payments at a main premises, and on the go.

It seems like a reasonable deal?

No setup costs, rental of terminal is £30 a month.
Credit card rates are 2%
Debit card charges are 30p
18 month contract - longer than I hoped.

They put the full amount into my account at the end of each month and just bill/debit me for the charges.

Seems that I can use a standard bank account too, nothing special from my bank. Can someone confirm that I shouldn't be expecting any additional charges?

Charity, I'd be happy to get a quote from yourself if you're in the same business. Cheers.

I personally think that 2% for cards is a lot to pay and you should try to negotiate that down and/or get a cheaper deal elsewhere.

Just a quick tip from the inside.. whatever prices you are quoted by others (and we recommend you shop around), always come back to PaymentSense and we will beat the quote - there is usually room for negotiation.

Biztiger if you drop me a PM with your name and number, I will have one of our sales team (Cardsave) call you on Monday.

Our rates are very competitive and our payments are made within 3 working days from the day of payment - not at the end of every month. As well as all of our agreements being 12 month contracts as standard.

I think PaymentSense will have to budge a bit! I don't know why they don't give you their best quote in the first place to be honest..? :|

Let me know if you'd like any help. :)

You might have been refused because your cnp is too high and or you take deposits for high value items. Card Save are in my top three along with Streamline and Payment Sence when advising my clients with their merchant accounts.

What is your business?
