My wife never stops telling me, how fussy I am and how difficult it is to buy a gift for. However, it is Christmas and most people are busily looking for gifts for their loved ones. It made me think, what was the best gift I have ever received?

Materially it is a nice jacket my wife bought for Christmas about 3 years ago, that is one of the few pieces of clothing she got spot on. For non-material things, it is the way the old folks brought me up and my family making the home a place I want to return to every day.

Enough of all that emotional jumbo... what is the best gift you received?

A Star Trek collectable pocket watch depicting the Enterprise (NCC 1701-D) with schematics etched in to the metal interior.

It was from my mother. I could never part with it (well, there's always a price, obviously).

Ben your my hero. I have authentic TOS <you gotta be a treky. Phaser, tricorder and communicator. Among many other Start Trek gifts given to me.

I got a sneaky feeling I'm getting a Federation dressing gown this year!!!

Nice!

I have all of the comm badges from TNG up to ENT - replica type 1 phaser and type 3 pulse rifle from First Contact and a large model of Terok Nor. I have been obsessed for years. Voyager has got to be my favourite series.

The dressing gown is good by the way, firebox.com sell them, along with the Star Trek fragrances (I would recommend Tiberius).

We need to keep the fanbase going - thanks to CBS and their decision to axe the franchise, the younger generation won't know about it :(

I recently got an immaculate limited edition DVD box set of Voyager for a very good price of ebay.

Although I prefer TNG, it is on CBS Action everyday, apparently yesterdays episode, which I've yet to watch, has Spock and Sarek in it.:):)

Currently looking for a TOS dinky NCC 1701-A at a good price, the type that fires the little yellow phaser disks. I had one as a kid and want another one.

Where do you get the comm badges??

I been looking all over the intertubes for comm badges, obviously in the wrong places.

I heard they are remastering TNG in Hi Def , from the original film stock, with the SFX all redone in HD:

Materially, i can't even think of one because ive received lots of great gifts.. but for non-material things, i think it's my family and friends..they're the ones who were always there for me..it's too hard to find people whom you could trust your whole life to..

My iPod is the best gift I've received. I love music and being able to load as much on it as it can handle is amazing. I use it daily and it now seems to be able to tap into my moods when it is on shuffle.

Oh now that's interesting... an Imood... I wonder if I should patent that before they nick the idea... :D

I don't do xmas so I don't get gifts. :)

I Love Spreadsheets

A Sinclair ZX80 computer. At the time this was bleeding edge technology for the home computer user. This single gift went on to shape my education and my career to this day. (I still use techniques and knowledge I gained from that gift)

Wish I had kept in now, I think it would look great framed on my office wall
