Best Customer Review option for my website

Hi,

I have been running my own e-commerce website for the last 12 months and it has been going really well. I still feel their is room for improvement and one of those areas is for customers to actually provide reviews on the service / product they receive so it can help build trust amongst potentially new customers. A lot of my competitors seem to be using this option to their advantage.

I did consider doing this about 6 months ago and got some quotes of Trust Pilot, then decided to sit it out for a while. I am now ready to go ahead with it however unsure about which is the best review option out there. There is Trust Pilot, Review Centre and some others.

Can anyone who has used these review option on their website provide me with some guidance on which might be the best option available?

    I have just spoken to them and they quoted me for £149 a month for the start up package. I got her down to £100 if we get the ball rolling tomorrow. Do you think that is a good price?

    When i spoke to them about 12 months ago they had the starting price at £75.

    I've been using Yotpo and find it pretty good. I'm not sure it carries the same trust as TrustPilot, but at the end of the day a review is a review, it's a third party system and it's building significantly in trust worldwide. The makers received a significant amount of funding (10.8 million dollars!) a short while back.

    When I used it, it was completely free, now I'm still on the free plan but there are paid for plans with more/better features. It's not nearly as expensive as Trustpilot. And the other thing I found with TP and Ekomi etc is that they lock you into a contract, really wasn't happy with that.

    Also depends how many sales you get, not many people bother leaving reviews so to generate a lot of reviews you need a lot of orders or other incentives for people to leave a review. So worth considering how many reviews you expect to get a month when figuring out what's right for you.

    More reviews you get the less the £150 a month matters.

    Thanks for the recommendation of Yotpo (hadn't come across this before). I will have a look in to it and see if it is right for me.

    We don't have lots of orders, but what we do sell tends to have quite high value. So as you say maybe worth considering giving the customers an incentive to leave a review.

    That's too much. I think you should be looking at the £75 mark.

    Collect reviews and put them on your own site. Why pay stupid amounts of money to a company for sending a few emails.
    We stopped using Trustpilot a long time ago now because they tried to ramp our price up.
    We now send automated emails 7 days after dispatch and have a fairly decent review conversion. We've also had plenty of customers say they bought from us because of the good reviews.

    All I can say though is be honest and publish bad reviews as well if you get them. No company is 100% perfect and you will never please everybody. It's how you deal with the bad reviews that really counts.

    I would highly recommend Yotpo to collate and showcase reviews from customers. It has some really useful features to bring in social interaction and improves SEO as well. I have seen many large or fast growing stores use it.

    I usually recommend Feefo because the support guys there are great. You can actually pick the phone up and speak with them.

    The Feefo system integrates with Adwords so you get your stars and packages start at about £70-£80 a month. You just need to haggle.

    You also get SEO benefits because the reviews are posted on their site with links into your product pages.

    I have even used Feefo without integrating it into the site. It's a great tool for gauging customer feedback before you decide to put reviews on the web.

    Because as a (savvy) consumer, I know that if you manage your own reviews you could (in theory) only publish the good ones/make them up yourself too easily.

    If I see reviews on the big review sites - I know it is harder for you to meddle. If you have lots of positives, I am much more inclined to believe you are a company that will give me a good service.
