This question has probably been asked before, but I'm just wondering your opinion on who you think provides the best business account service. I already have a b/account with RBS and have found them to be ok.
Is there anyone in particular you would recommend, maybe great service, free banking period etc...i'm staring a 2nd business and looking for the best possible deal out there.

Thanks in advance! :)

I am with HSBC too - everything is spot on as mentioned above. Haven't tried myself yet but also they among the solid banks in the country (in that they were less affected by the crisis) so I reckon it would be easier to get a loan with them in comparison to loyds for ex.

Choose any and focus on making your business a success. Saving a few £s on bank charges is hardly going to be a make or break is it?

Santander/ Alliance & leicester offer free banking forever, online accounts and visa debit cards, you can also add a savings account to transfer your tax money into. I have read that they are not too sympthatic when it comes to lending though.

I have an Alliance and Leicester account which has been fantastic and I am sure it will continue to be until it is no longer fantastic. The thing with bank accounts of any sort, is they are usually great until something goes wrong so it really is a 'How long is a piece of string ' question

Barclays Business Banking is highly recommended. I have several businesses and find the business banking staff more than helpful on many occasions. I have a great contact in Manchester and Salford if you need a referral message me.

I am a member of FSB and would have changed to the Coop except I have heard their on line banking leaves much to be desired. I have thus stuck with HSBC, whom I have no complaints with and if you most of your banking on line, their charges are much reduced.

PS If you have to visit the local branch often, to pay in money, it is as well to see what the queuing situation is in your local branch. I know here it is very bad with Alliance & Leicester, Santader, NatWest and LloydsTSB.

Haha, great stuff guys! HSBC does seem to be the top dog according to this little survey...Just my luck that the the only branch available in Aberdeen is a fair bit away from where the actual shop is which isnt that handy in this one case if you're planning on doing a daily cash drop off!
Anyone here dealing/dealt with HBOS? haven't looked into them yet but they have a branch right around the corner from me...:D

I am about to switch to the FSB/COOP option from RBS who will shortly be Santander. (Yuk).

I will save £2,000 a year on charges which might be peanuts to you but is a modest holiday for my wife and I.

Ouch! I bank with RBS Business Banking Direct and it's largely free - the only thing I've ever been charged with is bounced cheque charges.

It's all good really, because the next survey that someone starts will probably show a different bank as being top dog. That one may have branches that are better located for you so maybe wait a few months for the next survey?:)

I have used the Alliance and Leicester (free banking) for almost three years and I have nothing but praise for them.

I used to me a member of the FSB (never again!) and I seem to remember that there was a lot of complaints about the Coop.
