I bought 20 pringles machines which fell short by about 60% of there guaranteed figure. They did resite some of them but never came anywhere close to the figures they promised me. They then gave me some of the blue pill machines but put them in some awful places, some are only selling 1/2 a week.

Hi there

Sorry to hear about the shortfall you are experiencing. The Pringles machines average 8-10 sales per week which equates to around 40 sales per month per machine average.

If you were told higher earning capabilities than this then you have been totally mislead.

Any company selling vending machines who quote exaggerated figures will soon be found out within the first month of trading. Most of the companies I know who deal with the Pringles machines will normally double the actual takings to entice people to buy them.

The placement of vendors onto a site is all about obtaining a good enough site that will fall into the category of achieving a good overall average for your investment. Some sites will bring in way below the average of 8-10 sales per week and some will bring in way above the average thus levelling out to give you an overall average of £40 per MONTH. If you are still below the overall average of £40 then we always recommend the re-siting of your bottom 10% poorest performer. It is IMPOSSIBLE to give guarantees for the performance of vendors on site as no two sites will perform the same even if they appear to be identical in staff numbers, type of business category etc.

Yes I have had nothing but problems with this bunch of cowboys since I bought a franchise from them in 2007. Once they have your money they want nothing more to do with you - won't return calls, can't provide sites, can't supply stock and are generally useless! They now seem to have suddenly shut their office and disappeared. Drinkwater and his cronies are known fraudsters. However despite the Daily Mirror, Watchdog, BBC all being on their case they have somehow still managed to slip under the net and for some reason these so-called "investigators" seem to have given up the chase. Will be interested to know if anyone has any info.

i can also tell yoiu that the machines that they supplied people only vend the pills that they box themselfs, they changed the original boxes so that you had to buy the pills from them.

I am in touch with the manufacturers and they have agreed to supply me with the pills in the packaging that will fit the Beck Machines, I wanted this size packaging so that the people who already have Beck machines can continue to buy stock otherwise they would be left with useless machines and I believe they have been through enough. My company is in the early stages but I should be live within 2 weeks (fingers crossed) I have been in touch with some of the customers from Beck and had a good response but I do not have every ones details due to the office closing so suddenly. If I can be of any help even if it is just info please feel free to email me, and should anyone have addresses for Ron or Roy I would really like them.

I recently purchased 8 pringles machines in April. Out of the 8 three are doing fairly well. The other five sells an average of one or 2 a week. I phoned beck asking them to resite the machines, they promissed they will but I did not hear from them. I wrote them a letter but had no reply. I have tried phoning them on several occassions but their telephone is disconnected. I would like to know where they are as I feel that I have wasted my money. I am blaming myself as I should have investaged the company before committing my finance. other investers beware research before committing your money.

Also I'm not selling anything (Lots of people on here have an agenda).

I have been doing vending for roughly 5 years and can offer a little advice to help make your business start making money.
I started with Salysol/Sandral machines :- They were fantastic but falling margins forced to rethink my position.
So I moved onto Pringles !!
There are lots of cowboys out there selling franchises and business bundles both for Sandral/Salysol and Pringles.
My opinion avoid them. I have had dealings but I'm not going to bad mouth anyone.

You !! can set up a business and make it a success !!! You will do what they do !!!
They may have some resources .. Marketing lists etc and few contacts …

But you can still do this..

For those with Pringles machine in your garage or in sites taking 1-2 Pringles a week.

This is for you:-
Firstly a site making 1-2 a week is better than in your garage. Also is a contact !!
So don't remove until all you machines are out of your garage.
These machines can go anywhere. They really can.
They don't just do in pubs and bars.
However saying that pubs give me great weekly returns.

I simply walk into pubs and ask to speak to the manager.

Tell them this.
1. I offer a simple service supplying Pringles to local pubs and clubs - Tell me how your business works regarding snacks?
This is an open question and people love talking about what they do. You need to listen to them !! The more you do this the better you will become.

Usually they say :- We sell this, this and this. We buy from cash and carry.
Tell them the sales pitch; 20% of all sales all that.
Most or all will say; we make more from our stock.

This works every time. And is 100% the truth.
There are a number of points to note.
1.
Tell them you probably do but I have found most of that margin you make with your stock comes at a price. The margin cannot be guaranteed due to theft from staff. In order to make sure this doesn't happen you have to keep an inventory. More work for you. Let me do all the work with my service.
2.
Most of the busy nights Friday/Saturday or football nights people will not wait in a line to get a Packet of crisps at the bar.
So Basically a vending machine in the corner will get business the bar wouldn't. I have my machines in bars that sell Pringles behind the bar. My machine sells more !!
3.
Vending machines is convenience. People like to use them when they see them not because they have a need.

Three simple points.
Often gets the bar folk on your side.
80% of the new sites I get is due to staff stealing the profits.

Sorry to hear about your previous bad experiences and very pleased that you have found a niche that you have been able to exploit profitably.

I do agree with your profit philosophy, obviously if you are confident and skilled to negotiate and site Pringle machines yourself then that is a good line to take. If you are able to consistently purchase Pringles at 27p + VAT per can then your margins are good, unfortunately having to pay commercial rates of commission which currently are no less than 20% and quite often in excess of 25% or 30% due to the site poachers who will be more than willing to offer 5% or 10% more than you are presently paying, any advantage gained is soon lost. From our experience with Pringles most sites start off very well and decline over a period of time due to the lack of variety of products. Yes, there are different flavours but a Pringle is still a Pringle! When the site starts to decline due to product boredom you have no change of products to bolster their appetites and go back to using the machine more than just occassionally. I am glad to hear of your odd site that does formiddable business, the problem is these mega sites are very, very few and far between and highly contested. For most people wishing to grow and build a business the reality of the overall average can be much more sobering, especially when paying site commissions.

Not all franchise companies are the same. We pride ourselves on giving our franchisees excellent value, excellent quality and facilities such as full subsidised low cost site location service, 100% guaranteed acceptance finance, and ongiong business support and development. Obviously a chap of your abilities would not benefit of what we have to offer and I am sure you are right that there are other people out there who should follow your example and do their own thing, we are here for the rest to give them the package and the resources which they do not possess themselves which would almost certainly condemm them to a potential business failure.
