Bank account (proof of address)

I formed my company with the help of the formation agent and so I am using their registered office.

Now, I want to open a bank account at Barclays. I called them, and their operator informed me that I need the Certificate of Good Standing, the Certificate of Incorporation and any "proof of address". Unfortunately, I do not have any "proof of address", because the office is not my office. I am just using the address of the formation agent for registered office purposes. I do not even have a "utility bill" with the name of my company, I do not have a tenancy agreement as well. Is there any other document which can prove the registered office? Or, maybe, any other ideas?..

That's strange. The formation agent sorted most of that for us, although they were offering Barclays as a promotion as well.

I'm in the process of doing the same thing with Barclays and they have asked for my home address for all directors as proof rather than my new company. (we also have a offically registered address in London and my new Barclays account manager checked companies house on the computer.. The formation agent (Companyformation2147) contacted Barclays direct and assigned the bank me an account manager, which might have more details on what you need to take as ID.

If you want to open a bank account for your company, you can use the Company incorporation certificate as the proof of company (I know Barclays and HSBC accept this).

For proof of ID, you take with you your passport or driving license (or identity card for foreign nationals).

For proof of address, you can take the invoice you received from the virtual office company. Or if you want, you could receive your bank statements at your home address if you take with your some sort of utility bill or personal bank account bank statement.
