BAD email marketing?

Got email "spam" this morn- for email marketing course from a Double barrelly named lady.

The thing that struck me ( just before I binned as it was nothing I was interested in) -

Why did their website link not work ?

And why have an email not even connected to your business or website ( that being the reason I peaked at the website) but a generic btconnect one.
Just seemed bizarre for a business supposedly experts at e marketing and wanting to teach others at £1,000 a pop to have even the basics wrong.

So then I find someone else who did exactly what I did ( have a gander )and was equally ( OK more so ) unimpressed.

That link (which I've had to break up in the quote above because I'm too new to these forums, sorry:redface won't work any more; I made some modifications to the original article and removed the tag after she asked nicely if I would do so.

I maintain that, if you're going to e-mail a bunch of people cold from an e-mail address list you've bought, you should take extreme care in doing so. It's easy to upset people, particularly if you send spam to someone as irascible as I am. Yet, as you observe, and as Oscar Wilde said originally, "there is only one thing in the world worse than being talked about, and that is not being talked about."
