Backlinks from a blog

Have had several requests for link exchange where I link to their website and they link to mine from a wordpress blog. The blog may have a couple of articles and lists of links all related to what I sell.
Also have seen websites set up to be 1 or 2 page related directories for 3 way link exchange.
Do these links have any value or should I refuse the exchange?

Well, would they really add value to your site?

Usually the case if a clear "no".

That is a very difficult question to answer without looking at the sites that have requested the link exchange; a PR0 site with one or two articles today could be much bigger and carry more influence in a few months, then again, it may just stay as it is because the owner of the site loses interest.

By asking the question "should I link to these sites" on a forum shows you have suspicions about their quality.

That is very rarely asked questions. The back links from a blog is very useful technique for generating traffic to a website.

I've never been given an offer of reciprocating links where it's been a fair deal. It's usually someone offering a link on an obscure website with next to nothing when it comes to pagerank or content.

It depends on if you are looking to improve SEO or drive traffic to your site... inbound links can be great for traffic, but reflects poorly on your site in terms of SEO if they come from a totally irrelevant page, or a page with a low page rank etc. Really depends what you are looking for.
