Baby clothes sourcing agent/company recommendations please

Hi,

I am looking for a sourcing agent/company to get my baby clothes designs manufactured abroad (China, India etc) where manufacturing is less costly than here. Need usual agent service, ie samples, quality control, import duties, delivery to my door.

I dont want vast quantities initially, around 500-1000 of each design.

Can anybody recommend any UK sourcing agents for such projects.

Have a look on google for reliable sourcing companies based in the area you are wanting to source, as local connections are very important for getting a good price. I.e if your sourcing agent is based in the area you are sourcing and is a local person who speaks local dialect etc, it is better for forming long term business relations with a factory.

In China different regions produce different things. For example Dongguan has a lot of silicone products, Yiwu is famous for giftware etc.

Alternatively, if its your first time, find your factories and go out yourself.

The best thing to do is to go to China and find the appropriate factories. This way you can negotiate pricing and check quality. As its your first time buying from China and perhaps you may have some specific requirements, using a sourcing agent will be time consuming, costly and possibly frustrating.

Depending on the complexity of your design you should not have an issue with a factory providing a workable rate at 1000 units.

Just be aware that any specifically nice design features may well end up
'integrated" onto other products the factory produces domestically.

Why don't you try to Eastern European countries? Close to home, lower MOQ, faster delivery time and you're only 3hrs flight away from most of them. Often, if all factors are considered, price difference is minimal.

I suggest that if you want the small quantities from China. It is better to buy from retailer who generally have the huge quantity and various qualities. If you want I know a person in Ireland who have the close connection in China can help you in your matter
