We are a car buying company and buy cars directly from the customer through our website 'Big Car Buyer'. We advertise our website through the main channels and customers find our site, put details about their car on our website and we call them with an offer to buy their car and collect from their home or work place. We do not charge any admin fee's and the money is paid instantly to the customer upon collection.

We are looking at being more proactive and wondered if there were any data companies on here that could supply us with some good quality data that we could work with.

We are obviously looking for data where the customer we will call or email is in the market to sell their vehicle.

Can anyone help or point me in the right direction?

Thanks
Jason

Your target market would seem to be fairly easy to profile, and also easy to communicate with / market to. People wanting to sell a car are very predictable in their actions.

Are you sure buying lists to contact is the best technique? I'd put it close to the bottom of a very long list.

AllUpHere, Thank you for your reply. You say this may be at the bottom of the list. Do you have any suggestions that may help us attract a larger audience? We are currently tweaking our online and offline marketing strategy regarding the website and use social media as a platform to engage with us, but would be very open to new ideas and suggestions to attract this target audience.....

When you originally formulated your marketing plan did you find that bought in e-mail lists would be a suitable promotional technique? Whoever did the plan originally would have had a lot more info about your company to go on and would have also carried out a lot of research before drawing up the plan. I'm shooting in the dark trying to suggest alternatives.

My point really is that I'd be very surprised if emails to bought in data lists would be efficient (or effective).

Was the original plan carried out by a third party, or do you employ someone to do it for you / do it yourself?
