For those who are looking to acquire prospect lists for B2B emailing, I just wanted to share a bit of recent experience...

1) skrapp.io - being able to collect 5,000 emails + company/contact details for 60 USD is a pretty decent deal. They responded to any support queries and had solid uptime/performance for the money.

2) avention.com - turning the dial up, offering tons of company details plus 5,000 contact emails per month for 3.5 times the skrapp.io price, sounds expensive. However, the data has been pre-cleansed, so you don't have to worry about TPS, bad emails, etc, plus they include the ability to filter with more precision than any provider I could find on the market.

I've had contact with a few people at Avention, always got blazing fast responses and a 'can do' attitude, despite being now owned by D&B.

I'll have more to share after several more months of using the service, but at this point, Avention is the one to beat for UK data, full stop. If you need highly targeted UK prospecting data, these guys & gals are the real deal.

I've had to update my opinion on Avention / DnB, linked below and expanded upon further below:

As hard as it is to believe, this giant company is selling garbage bundled as premium data.

My last test showed 40% of emails non-existent or undeliverable. An additional 5% were from contacts who have left the company, some as many as 5 years ago.

When a company charges 12x the cost of the competition (skrapp.io sell their service for even less than 1/12th of the Avention/DnB price), I expect premium quality. They offer it, I expect it.

However, after a couple of months of testing, to find the emails provided were over 40% trash, I have come to the realisation that Avention / DnB are in the business of selling stale garbage.

I'm still having a hard time believing that such a reputable company was founded upon something so unfit for purpose, having come from a background where data quality was paramount (Fair, Isaac).

Just goes to show that no matter the company size, there are companies like Avention / DnB who prey upon others rather than delivering a win-win scenario.

If you'd like a big bundle of over-priced stale garbage, I highly recommend Avention / DnB as your data provider of choice. Otherwise, don't walk - run, the opposite direction.
