Automated Review System

I'm working for a small company and right now we're using Yotpo for automated reviews under the products and have a blog where we manually copy and paste reviews from Amazon, Facebook, etc. We have a free subscription to Yopto, and the CEO is not interested in paying for services like this right now. Copying and pasting reviews simply appear as fake and I think this discourages visitors/impact conversions.

What is the best automated review system that's free?

I would go back to your CEO and ask whether he/she values their reputation and brand image?

Free review apps are pointless because nobody trusts them. You might as well keep copying and pasting.

Honest customer reviews are one of the most important things you can have on your site and, if you use a well-known source, like Trust Pilot then your conversion rate will go up. It's a trust signal!

You need to invest time and effort in your brand. Customer service - pre and post sale - is a massive part of that. Give your customers an awesome experience then they will leave more reviews and reward you with their loyalty. Others will read them and then commit to a purchase.

This shouldn't be an afterthought. Trust and loyalty is how you grow your business. You need to use the right tools to do it. It won't happen by cutting corners everywhere.

Just my thoughts from a fair amount of experience

Good luck.

There are horror stories with every platform in some form or another. TrustPilot isn't cheap but it has the brand recognition.

I'm not saying other review engines are not effective but Trust Pilot has the biggest coverage.

At the end of the day, you need to invest in your brand and go with what fits your budget. Making your brand more trustworthy is far more important than paying to drive endless traffic through ads.

If people do not trust your brand or site then they won't convert, no matter what you do. Reviews, testimonials, customer stories, visible payment logos, press logos, awards, etc, are all trust signals you need to have in place.
