PAYE Payments are such a hasse.
All other taxes like CT and VAT are automated and paid via direct debit.
Is it no possible to do the same for PAYE Payments?

Currently I am having to login to HMRC, enter my payment details manually every month.

The thing that makes it more annoying it, if you click on make early PAYE payments early, you can do so but entering more info like refrence and ammount.
If you think you will wait for HMRC to update their records and will come back to it, you have to keep checking the HMRC online account to see if it has been updated. As they do not send out any notification to say, "HEY WE ARE READY TO TAKR YOUR PAYE PAYMENTS".

If you forget then you are fined. :(

You can pay by direct debit but only one-off payments. HMRC list the ways you can pay PAYE here.

HMRC update from RTI submissions on 6th and 19th of each month. They don't update in real time (the "real time" bit of RTI only applies to employers. HMRC can, apparently, take their own sweet time over everything).

Why not set up a standing order and just amend the amount each month when you do your RTI submission. No need to go anywhere near the HMRC website.

Personally I would have thought an online bank payment to HMRC is much quicker than changing a standing order every month.

I'm sure it is, but you can change the standing order as soon as you complete payroll, which is more effort to do on the HMRC website., and that seems to be what the OP is struggling with.

I think maybe you've misunderstood what I meant.

I am suggesting the OP sets up HMRC as an online payee from his bank account and simply makes an online payment direct from his bank account each month.

No need to use a standing order and change it each month, or to log in on the HMRC website and pay via the website.

Yes, I did realise that, however if you wish to make that payment as soon as you have run payroll you need to fiddle around to change the reference for the month you are paying for, or the payment will be crejdited to the previous month. You either need to amend the reference each month or wait until after 5th of the month following payroll to make the payment. It seems that he is struggling to remember to do that.

It takes seconds to amend a payment reference when making a payment using online banking, if needed, much quicker than amending a standing order each month.

Either is pretty simple, but apparently not for the OP.

    I think that's a little harsh.

The original question was perfectly reasonable.

It's also not actually clear that the OP was aware of the other payment options available.

    OP hoped it's helped.

    Thanks guys it has helped.
My issues is not only the current methods for payment are annoying. Where you have to make the payment self.
But I thought I was missing something as I expected that HMRC would have a method to automatically take payments of the right amount when they need to. Same thing that they do with VAT or CT. When I submit a return for Vat or final accounts, HMRC will take the tax owed via direct debit. And I don't need to do anything, I don't need to worry that I will have late payments if forget.
Where as in PAYE you have to go make a payment.
If it's on the HMRC website, login, make an early payment, entrer card info; ref, amount. Or go bank website login, make payment, edit reference, enter amount or wait for HMRC to update PAYE, then make payment.

I just assumed they would have a more automated process, as they do for Vat and CT.
