Artist seeking Apprentice?

I'm a profit making artist (oil painter) and I'm considering the possibility of taking on an apprentice? I can offer training in skills, studio hygiene, marketing and selling art, etc. Offering considerable insight to a professional artist's practise not found in a traditional art school (I've been to three). I've had a quick look at the Gov.UK site for information, but it's unclear whether an artist could offer an apprenticeship?

Thanks for any advice,

Contact your local college and discuss this with them and I'm sure if you're providing a great opportunity for one of their students to get some experience that they will help you with everything.

I was also going to suggest this. I know a few artists and illustrators from my time at university who are very skilled, but struggled to use their talent professionally because their course didn't touch upon the commercial side of things.

Often an apprentice role can be fleshed out to include other tasks such as administration which provided they are not the main part of the role can get it approved.

Funnily enough administration is one of the key skills required. Thanks for all the advice - plenty to think about. I need to think about the level I need to pitch it at - obviously there's a big difference between a graduate and a school leaver.
