Articles.....am I wasting my time.

Hi all,

I am in the process of writing various articles to making them more seo friendly. The main key words I have included are letting agency, letting agents, landlords.

I appreciate it's going to be difficult to get these keywords to work for me.....any tips on how i can more regional based keywords in there without losing the flow of the articles?

Does any seriously feel I could generate articles that within the next 3 months could generate business for me?

The articles would be getting published on wordpress, so any other tips that might help me get results would also be appreciated.

Are you using a wordpress SEO plugin? You can get some that help you with keyword suggestions.

If you are considering putting these articles onto article websites the advise from the SEO guys is that they have lost their steam (due to the last update by google (the panda update) which downgraded many article websites such as Ezine, Buzzle etc.).

Apparently guest blogging is the flavour of the month (link shows a site you can find blogs on).

If you go to the Google news thing

Enter search term 'letting agent news' or whatever related to your biz, you'll have tons of content ideas. You can make searchterm regional if you want regional news in that area.

They can work well but I think I would have a longer term plan than 3 months. Maybe pace it out and organise it into your work over a much longer period of time. Focus on good conent, useful, interesting etc as well as the keywords. If it's stuff people want to read it will work. Does take time though..

Are you going to purchase your own domain name? If not I would do this before putting in all this effort. you dont want to get your wordpress sub domain site known and then change it to your own later and all your work will be for nothing.

Your wasting your time.

Write yourself a decent sales letter and stick it in a post box.

since Panda seo is all over the place. Article sites have been downgraded.

By all means put articles on sites specifically relevant to your industry but please don't rely on it.

As for results in 3 months -no.

Articles are written either to attract traffic themselves or to act as a vehicle for generating links. Either way there's no need to guess. There are some great tools that will let you find out how strong the pages that rank for the phrases you want to rank are. For example you could sign up for a trial account at SEOMoz and use their tools.

Getting traffic isn't an exact science but between studying the strengths of existing pages and testing phrases with PPC you can quickly gain some valuable insight into your market.

yes you can.

Try targetting keywords which are longer tail, basically laser targeted to your niche. It will bring it less traffic, but should convert better and be easier to rank

You could post the articles on your blog and then promote them through social media sites...
