I tend not to go shopping at all, will only travel first class on trains for no other reason than to avoid being cramped in a crowd which stresses me out, etc.
I'm glad I'm not alone. When I used to commute it was a nightmare, except the bits I could do first class, to me it was a price worth paying as I simply couldn't travel to work otherwise as driving from one side to the other of London is also impossible.

£8 and a book for 50p. Don’t think Amazon can beat that, especially as door to door was 30 minutes.
    So 30 minutes of your valuable time - £50 -plus £16.50 = £76.50
Amazon two new shirts not pre worn by tramp £40 and a book without dubious stains on the pictures £6.50 = £46.50

Net saving £30, plus you don't have to risk being hit b ythe odd falling tree :)

People who do this are the scum of the Earth, it shows a certain attitude to others, takers who deserve nothing but contempt.
Please don't call my missus the scum of the earth...?
Earlier today a local Farm Shop selling the best pies you will ever buy was all but sold out. Intending to place a telephone order with them for collection next weekend we visited the manufacturers website to view the whole range. 'Oh look,' the missus exclaimed, 'we can buy them online and have them delivered'......saving a total of something like £1.20.

My view is that the Farm Shop has introduced us to a product, enabled us to see it, evaluate it, buy it and take it away today. 'Geezers gotta make a profit' I told the missus.....and we like shopping there for many other products/reasons.

Except I was going to drop off some stuff and came away with some stuff. Both activities benefitted the charity rather than a tax avoiding corporation. It’s not always about the money. There was a thread here the other day discussing community. I regard helping charities as being part of the community.
